Progress on Garbage Collection in Mombasa: A committee chaired by Mombasa’s D.O. has reported good progress in addressing garbage collection issues amidst a growing population. The municipality has increased its garbage collection vehicles from 31 to nearly 500,000 to better manage waste, which includes about 5 tons of rubbish per day. Health Campaign Against AIDS: Mombasa-born musicians Teddy Harrison and his brothers, along with Nassir Al Brown, have released a new single titled "TIKINCE TIKINCE NA NA A UKIMWI" as part of an AIDS awareness campaign. This initiative, sponsored by the Ministry of Health and the Red Cross, aims to educate the youth about AIDS prevention in an engaging manner. Wild Animal Threats to Communities: Reports indicate that local residents in the Mwskitau area are living in fear of attacks from wild animals, particularly elephants. The situation has disrupted education, forcing students to discontinue their learning due to safety concerns. Councillor Andrew Marusi emphasized the need for measures to protect villagers from wildlife.
