Abstract

Successful Rocket Launch: The San Marco D/L satellite successfully launched into space, creating a spectacular display in the night sky visible from the North Coast of Kenya. The four-stage U.S. Scout rocket took off from the offshore launch platform, followed by cheers from onlookers in various locations. The satellite, named UTAFITI (Swahili for "research"), will operate in low equatorial orbit, contributing to NASA-CRA's space research program. Safari Rally Souvenirs: The countdown for the Safari Rally is on, and a variety of souvenirs from the 1988 Marlboro Safari Rally will be available at D.T. Dobie branches.
