A Public Road By Private Initiative: A major road improvement project is underway for Beira Road in Mombasa, led by three companies: Bamburi Cement, Howard Humphreys (Kenya) Ltd, and Portland Cement. This initiative, which will cover 1,000 square meters in the first phase, aims to address potholes and enhance road quality. The project is set to begin in April and is expected to be a pioneering effort in East Africa. A Channel For Likoni : International consortia are proposing a significant infrastructure project to build a two-lane tunnel across the Likoni channel. This project aims to replace the existing Likoni Ferry Service and could transform Mombasa's status as an island. The scheme, estimated at 2 billion Kenya shillings, is supported by major international and local companies and is expected to alleviate traffic and connectivity issues- Reported by Gray Phombeah.
