Your car is costing you a fortune: Are you one of those people who rarely walk, but use your car to drive everywhere? If so, the next time you get into your car to travel a short distance, consider the true cost. Allad-un-naby: Lamu, the center of Islamic learning in Eastern Africa may attract thousands of Muslims from around Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Zaire, Somalia and the Comores, for this year’s Maulidi. Dateline: Nairobi/Dar es salaam: It seems the story of spare parts may be alleviated very shortly with the production of machinery components and spare parts worth 60 million shillings a year. The telling tale of the two medallions: Princess Elizabeth and Prince Philip were being entertained at a luncheon banquet at Nairobi New Stanely Hotel, the guests -Kenya’s top white establishment-were assembled, and the city’s mayor, Alderman Harold Travis, was holding forth. Hockey stars still in control: The first leg of the coast hockey league concluded last Sunday and took a week’s break to give the players a well-deserved rest as well as allow other matches of other competitions to be played. Yung Muslims: Young Muslims Football Club from Mariakani is a big force to reckon with in Kilifi District. Rono loses his world record: Regrettably, it looks as though Henry Rono may be denied his 10,000m. world record, set in Vienna last June. Adococks keep it in the family: Ken and James Adcock, fishing from a unique Sesses Canoe which originated on the River Nile, Egypt were overall winners of the annual fishing competition. Pakistan win: Pakistan, minus the service of their four stars -Asif Iqbal, Majid Khan, Imran Khan and Zaheer Abas, beat New Zealand in the first cricket test match in New Zealand by 128 runs. en_US
