Security Forces Recover Stolen Goods: Armed bandits attacked the Bumari Trading Centre in Lamu District, resulting in the theft of goods. Security personnel have been deployed to the area to deal with the attackers, who are believed to be hiding in nearby forests. Two individuals were admitted to the Lamu District Hospital due to serious injuries sustained during the attack. Appeal for Police Station Upgrade: Local councillors Francis Chege and Nallall Kilonga have appealed to the government to upgrade the Mpekelu Police Station to accommodate more security personnel and enhance security measures in response to recent attacks. Honeymoon Party for Film Star: A honeymoon party was hosted at the famous Mombasa Castle in honor of film star Vinod Mehra and his wife, Kiran. The event was attended by over 100 guests, celebrating the couple's union. Rhino Man’s Marathon Walk: Michael Werikhe, known as 'Rhino Man,' has embarked on a marathon walk across European countries to raise awareness and funds for rhino conservation. He started his journey in Assisi, Italy, and aims to cover several countries, including West Germany and the Netherlands, before returning to Kenya in September. Werikhe has been known for his previous walks for wildlife conservation since 1982. Lamu County Council Budget Plans: The acting clerk of the Lamu County Council, Athuman, announced plans to spend KSh 764 million on various development projects. This includes funding for 4,000 toilets in Mukowe and Kunga Shi and improvements to the Lamu Stadium. Support for Quran Tutors: Mombasa Chairman, Shariff Nassi, presented KSh 70,000 in cash to be distributed to Quran teachers during the holy month of Ramadan. This donation was part of the Teachers Trust Fund initiative aimed at supporting Islamic education
