Tanzanian Fokker friendship makes a 'forced landing: forty four passengers, the pilot, and crew were noted safe and sound after their twin-engined Air Tanzania Fokker Friendship crash-landed at Dar es Salaam International Airport on Sunday. Flight 670 was on a scheduled Sunday morning flight from Dar es Salaam to Mombasa, via Zanzibar, when the pilot encountered difficulty in lowering the aircraft's undercarriage. Despite this frightening development, all passengers survived, including several Kenyans. The plane made an emergency landing, moving along the grass with emergency exits opened for passenger evacuation. John Johnson Impressed By 'Scenic Lamu: British High Commissioner John Johnson expressed his admiration for Lamu's rich architectural and cultural heritage during his recent visit. His visit included meetings with Coast Provincial Commissioner Simeon Mung’alla and Mombasa Mayor Ahmed Mwidani, during which they discussed the historical links between Kenya and Britain. Johnson emphasized that Lamu's status as a historical site would attract more tourists. Mayor Mwidani appreciated the donation of a refurbished fire engine by the British government and requested further firefighting equipment for the growing city.
