Abstract

Lamu Service: The Kenya Posts and Telecommunications has completed installation of the new automatic telephone exchange in Lamu. It is expected to be fully operational by December 23, 1986. KANU Party Membership: Kenya's ruling party, KANU, has achieved a membership of 5 million out of a registered 5 million eligible members, surpassing one-quarter of the national population. Police Praised: The Malindi District Officer praised the local police for their successful efforts in curbing illegal operations in the town's tourism industry. This recognition was given during a presidential speech marking Jamhuri Day. Mohamed Amin Honored: Mohamed Amin has been awarded the Valiant Truth Award for 1986.
