Second Airbus Joins Kenya Airways Fleet: Kenya Airways welcomed its second Airbus A310-300, registered as 5Y-BEN, which arrived in Nairobi from Frankfurt at 6:30 AM. This Airbus, joining the first one delivered earlier in May, will operate on European routes. The Kenya Airways Board, represented by Mr. Richard Adera, Deputy Secretary, traveled to Toulouse for its delivery. The new aircraft aims to provide superior services and competitive pricing on European routes. American Envoy Praises Kenya’s Private Sector: U.S. Ambassador Gerald Tm commended Kenya's private sector for its development efforts, describing it as a model of free enterprise in Africa. Speaking at the American Business Association in Nairobi, he highlighted the U.S. Government’s commitment to supporting Kenya with millions of dollars in development aid over the next seven years. The U.S. Peace Corps also plays a significant role, with 253 volunteers currently in Kenya. Hundreds Attend WOCO 86 Conference in Mombasa: Nearly 700 delegates gathered at the Hotel Continental in Mombasa for the WOCO 86 Conference, with Vice President Mwai Kibaki presiding over the opening ceremony at Fort Jesus Museum. The event, organized by the Association of Round Tables in Eastern Africa, focuses on community development initiatives and international cooperation. Delegates were treated to a lively welcome, including traditional music and dance- Reported by Neta Peal. Gangsters Strike in Malindi: A gang of thieves broke into the Malindi Municipal Offices at around 2:00 AM, stealing valuable items, including a silver chain worth Shs. 200,000, which had been gifted to the municipality during its elevation to town status. The thieves tied up a watchman and ransacked the offices, leaving papers and receipts scattered across the department. The Town Clerk, Mr. David Randu, confirmed the incident.
