Coastweek Staffer Wins American Press Scholarship: Gray Phombeah, a journalist with Coastweek, has been awarded the prestigious Alfred Friendly Press Fellowship. He will spend six months in the United States writing and contributing to major publications. Phombeah is the first Coastweek journalist to receive this fellowship and will join nine other international journalists for this opportunity. Karibu Airbus: Kenya Airways' new Airbus A330-300, named Nyayo Star, received a grand welcome at Mombasa's Moi International Airport. The aircraft, which can seat 12 in business class and 144 in economy, is set to enhance Kenya Airways' capabilities and competitiveness in regional and long-haul flights.
