dc.description.abstract Seat Belts Save Eyes: A study from Germany revealed that eye injuries in car accidents have decreased significantly since seat belt usage became mandatory. The research, conducted in cities like Cologne, Hamburg, and Munich, showed over a 90% reduction in eye-related injuries due to the use of seat belts, emphasizing their importance in road safety. Kipevu Expands Petroleum Storage Facility: A new oil storage facility, costing Kshs. 560 million and funded by a Canadian loan, has been completed at Kipevu in Mombasa. The facility includes large oil storage tanks, each with a capacity of up to 330,000 barrels, bringing Kenya’s total storage capacity to 1.49 million barrels. This expansion aims to improve the efficiency of oil storage and distribution in the country – Reported by Phombeah. Lions International New Charter in Mombasa: Ashpoll Kapoor, the District Governor of Lions International (District No. 411), will present a charter to the new Mombasa Island Lions Club. The club has been active since September 1985, focusing on charity activities such as supporting physically handicapped children and food donations to Mji Wa Saleema. This new club adds to the Lions' growing presence in the region. Kilimanjaro Safari Club Development: Plans are underway for a major redevelopment of the Kilimanjaro Safari Club, a popular tourist destination located near Amboseli National Park. The renovation includes upgrading accommodations and enhancing guest experiences by offering safari excursions to nearby game reserves like Tsavo and Amboseli.
