Abstract

Construction of New Lamu Seaport Underway: The new Lamu Seaport, Kenya's second international seaport, is currently under construction and is expected to be completed in early 2017. This major infrastructure project is set to enhance Kenya's connectivity with South Sudan, Ethiopia, and Uganda, positioning it as a key player in the regional maritime trade. Rotary Clubs Celebrate Centenary: Rotary International President 2018-19, Sam Owori, joined celebrations at the Voyager Beach Hotel to mark 100 years of the Rotary Foundation. Eighteen Rotary Clubs from the Kenyan Coast participated in the event, highlighting the organization's long-standing commitment to service and philanthropy. The celebrations included speeches from past district governors and a recognition of the Rotary Foundation's significant impact over the past century.
