Abstract

President Uhuru Kenyatta Calls for Efforts to Exploit Kenya's Blue Economy: During the opening of the Agricultural Society of Kenya (ASK) Mombasa International Show, President Uhuru Kenyatta emphasized the need to make greater efforts to fully exploit the blue economy, which is considered a promising yet underutilized sector in Kenya. He noted that the country is far from realizing the full potential of its ocean resources and highlighted the importance of harnessing these opportunities for economic growth. Mombasa International Show Highlights: President Kenyatta was impressed by the diverse exhibits at this year's ASK show, which included numerous displays promoting agriculture, tourism, and economic development in the coastal region. Mombasa County, represented by Governor Hassan Ali Joho, was awarded the overall trophy for having the best stand at the event. Tourism Industry Growth: The event also underscored the goal of boosting Kenya's tourism industry, aiming for a "billion-dollar" market by increasing visitor arrivals and improving marketing efforts.
