Nursing protest: The new medical training center in Mombasa appears to be on the front line of a battle over better conditions for student nurses in the country, at a time when the Ministry of Health is faced with further worsening of medical services and disenchanted doctors- Reported by Gray Phombeah. Running the tote in Kenya: Not everybody worries about the U.K. weather especially those of us who live in Kenya but when 26-year-old David Sudden tunes into the weather report it’s not to find out if the drought is ending but to hear if there’s been any more ice, snow or floods on Britain’s race tracks-Reported by Mambo Gichuki. Record entry for the highly successful fishing festival: The Schweppes 7 up fishing competition held at the seahorse club, Kilifi, over last weekend turned out to be an enormous success, with an entry of Thirty-two boats-the largest entry for any fishing competition during the current fishing season- Reported by Tina Grainger. |
