Huge ‘Cargo handling ‘ investment in Kilindini: The government of Japan has agreed to undertake the Mombasa port development project by pumping into it a colossal loan amount of Japanese yen 26.7 billion or k.shs sixteen billion. The project which is expected to be complete by the year 2018, will more than double the port’s current container handling capacity-Special report by correspondent. Coast Girl Guides Association hosts important gatekeepers meeting in the Tana River district. Kenya Girls Guides Association has recently held a gatekeeper meeting at two venues in the Tana River district. Port of Mombasa records excellent cargo performance throughout 2007: The port of Mombasa has recorded a 9.9 per cent cargo growth in the first ten months of this year compared with those of the same period last year. |
