Abstract

IN THIS ISSUE: International Coastal Cleanup '17: Volunteers participated in the global Coastal Cleanup event on September 16, 2017, organized by Kenya Conservation Aquatic Resources. The cleanup focused on removing plastic trash from selected beaches, including those in Msambweni and the South Coast. This annual event aims to address ocean pollution, with plastic waste being a significant concern for marine life: Oktoberfest at Cocos Beach Bar: Cocos Beach Bar is hosting an Oktoberfest celebration from September 15th to October 8th, 2017. The event features German snacks and beer combos available daily from 5:00 PM to 11:00 PM. Additionally, Sarova Whitesands Beach Resort & Spa is offering a special German barbecue lunch on October 8th: Coastal Breeze Restaurant Fire: Coastal Breeze Restaurant at Bamburi Beach experienced a fire that caused significant damage. The incident was reported to be under control, and there were no injuries. The restaurant’s staff and nearby facilities ensured the safety of guests and the surrounding area.
