dc.description.abstract Inside this issue: Environment award for bamburi: Bamburi Portland Cement Company has won a world environment award for its efforts to enhance the Kenyan environment. Giants meet in Diani: The luxurious Diani Reef Hotel along the South Coast of Mombasa was a bustle of activity over the Madaraka long weekend, when over 200 delegates of the various Giants Groups in Kenya met for the second convention. Amarican cyclist wins ‘Madaraka day marathon’ Kenya’s 21st Madaraka Day was also celebrated by a Bicycle race sponsored by Mombasa’s Reef Hotel. Meanwhile another ship load of vehicles arrive : Some 100 motor vehicles are scheduled to arrive tomorrow at Kilindini port from Japan, in the face of a continuing controversy surrounding some other 800 Japanese cars impounded at the port.
