Inside this issue: Gold coast: Some cheerful news for those at the coast who have suffered in one way or another from decaying infrastructure, ethnic violence, devastating floods or slump in tourism; Accountants discuss money matters at mombasa’s reef: As we go in the next century, I feel it is Accountants living in an era of transparency who may lead the way; Coastdrive: When driving around one does notice some odd things but most people see them and forget; Nyali golf: As always there was a very good entry for the ever -popular Tea Trade Trophy played at Nyali golf and country club on Saturday; Squash torney: The just concluded closed squash tournament 1997, very kindly sponsored by Gilbeys, attracted a total of 34 entries in the men’s event, and a very poor response from the ladies; Sailing notes: Wednesday evening’s sailing in light winds was overshadowed by a tremendous successful bonfire, it being November 5; Bandari to meet leader utalii  F.C.On Sunday, November 16, 1997 Bandari FC may play the current league leader Utalii FC in a tension packed National Premier league match at the Mombasa municipal stadium

Inside this coastweek; Coastdrive with Patrick obath: The rain that has been pouring over the coastal area in Kenya have shown how badly prepared we are for any major disaster; Fishing notes: For anyone who is interested, not only do I sell and repair boat engines but also stock masks, fins, snorkels and boats; Sailing news: The Ladies Rosebowl sailed on Wednesday, October 29, saw the largest number of competitors for many a year; Golf news: The Mombasa golf club’s November monthly mug played on Saturday and sponsored by Moiz Jivanji produced excellent winning scores in all divisions; Butech soccer: The much -awaited finals of the Butech sponsored Aga Khan Invitational Soccer Tournament shall be played between defending champions Aga Khan and Memon this Saturday (8/11/97) at Burhani sports ground.
