Inside this issue: A motor show for Mombasa: The Lions Club of Mombasa Central has planned to host and organize First Ever Motor Show at the Coast to be held at the KPA Mbaraki Sports Club Ground from Friday, March 14, 1997; Mombasa;s women network centre to mark ‘international women’ day’’ The international Women’s Day which is on March 8, 1997 is a day that was set aside to pay tribute to women for the various roles that they play in their homes and nations; Coastdrive:People in a hurry to cross any stream of traffic can sometimes get into difficulty if they try to do so in a rush; Fishing note: Last week I was again down in Zanzibar and arriving back on Friday evening too late to go up to Kilifi, I missed ‘The Classic.’ Golf news: The March KLGU Medal at Nyali Golf and Country club was very generously sponsored by Fariji Towels, courtesy of Ansuya Shah, who is a keen new golfer at the club.

Inside this issue: Kenya- U.K. donors boost munje school: ‘Thousands of thanks’, gifts of locally grown fruit and nuts were showered upon the providers of Kshs. 28,000/- worth of urgently needed roofing materials for Munje Primary School, Msambweni; Special report: Books gift for Lamu Museum; Muslim educationist stresses importance of proper career; Muslim Education and Welfare Association (MEWA) have held their annual career advisory meeting at the Qubaa Institution of learning; Coastdrive: A lot of drivers treat crossroads with caution especially when traffic lights or other traffic controlling media are either not present or not functioning; Golf news: There were two Extra KLGU Medals played in the past week, the first on Tuesday February 18, at Mombasa golf club which was sponsored courtesy of Pankaj Nimavat; Fishing news: I can not be wrong all the time but last week I stated that “I was wrong and the Tamarind competition was on 15th March.” Soccer scene: Football referees from all the districts of the coast province have now successfully completed the physical fitness cooper test at Mombasa municipal stadium.
