Ferry Traffic Disrupted: Ferry services in Mombasa faced severe disruptions over the past week due to technical failures. This has caused significant traffic issues, impacting the flow of transportation, including preparations for the A.S.K. (Agricultural Society of Kenya) show. The Minister for Tourism and Wildlife, Andrew Omarga, expressed concern about the negative impact this could have on tourism. Turtle Bay Beach Hotel Expansion: Turtle Bay Beach Hotel in Watamu is undergoing expansion, adding twenty-four new rooms in Lamu Houses with stunning views and fully renovated facilities, including a disco, snack bar, and grill. New American Consul Arrives in Mombasa: The Mayor of Mombasa, Councillor Ahmed Mwidani, welcomed the new American Consul, Mr. Fagene D. Schmiel. The mayor thanked the United States for its support, particularly the provision of medicines to the Jomvu area. The long-standing relationship between Mombasa and the U.S. continues to grow stronger through such cooperative efforts. Mr. Schmiel expressed his gratitude for the warm reception. Another New Hotel in Diani: The South Coast is seeing rapid expansion with the opening of new hotels, catering to the growing tourism demand. A new luxury hotel will soon be inaugurated, designed by the architect responsible for Shimoni Lodge. Cotton Bonanza in Bura: Farmers in Bura have achieved a cotton harvest valued at over Shs. 35 million, signaling a major success for the region’s agricultural sector. New Hotel Developments on the Kenya Coast: Over 1,000 new hotel beds are expected along the Kenya Coast in preparation for the upcoming high tourist season.
