Long wait on Likoni ferry: New ferries will not be delivered until the end of 2008 causing another long wait for the Likoni ferry- which sometimes is 90 minutes on the Llikoni side, passengers wonder what is being done to end this long delay- Special report by Neta Peal. Water authorities must consider the option of introducing a desalination plant for Mombasa. Waterwise Mombasa: Are things improving receiving only a few buckets of fresh water last year I can happily report having had water again in my taps on July 3 and 23-there being quite a lot on the latter date making it. His Highness. Is the Aga Khan marking his golden jubilee: His Highness the Aga Khan completed his 50th year as the imam of the Ismaili community on 11 July 2007.Golden Jubilee Special report. Ismailis worldwide commemorate the Aga Khan’s Golden Jubilee: His Highness the Aga Khan became imam of the shiai mamI Ismaili Muslims on July 11, 1957, at the age of 20, succeeding his grandfather, Sir Sultan Mahomed Shah Aga Khan. He is the 49th hereditary imam of the Shia Imami Muslims and a direct descendant of the prophet Muhammad through his cousin and son-in-law, Ali the First Imam, and his wife Fatima; the prophet’s daughter. July 11 marks the start of a year-long commemoration of the Aga Khan’s golden jubilee celebrations by Ismailis worldwide.
