Port boost from railway upgrade: Port of Mombasa has facilitated discharge of 1,500 ton consignment of rail bars and sleepers for repair of 70 kilometer worn out sections of the Mombasa Nairobi railway line. Mombasa junior students receive educational boost: Students in lower classes have received an educational boost through the setting up of mocks examinations for standard seven pupils. Classic at the coast: Music lovers are most definitely in store for a treat when the Kenya Conservatoire of music in conjunction with the Coast Arts and theatre society presents CLASSICS at the Coast. Mombasa city new look: With application of a coat of white paint on buildings in Mombasa, Mombasa City has a new look and it is the only good thing that can be said about the current administration in Town hall.

Mombasa schools go green art competition: World Environment Day celebrations are held every year on 5th June .o stimulate awareness of the environment and enhance political attention and action. Mambrui welfare takes initiative to eradicate blindness in coast: On 7th and 8th of July 2012, Mambrui Welfare Group in conjunction with Mombasa Eye Hospital and Laser Center held a successful eye camp at Witoo, west of Lamu County Council. Top student in cat exam: Dhruti Hasmukh Lakhani of Jaffery Institute of professional studies (JIPS) has achieved wonders in CAT examination when she emerged top at her school in recording financial transactions and management information. The season of madness: I do not know whether this is the ‘Season of Madness’ or not but for the last week I seem to have seen a lot of silly situations on the road in three of the towns I have visited in the country - reported by Coastdrive with Teti Kamugunda.
