Jaffery sports club won the coast cricket association Madaraka Day tournament beating Union Cricketers by two wickets in the finals; Watt is handicap stroke play champ: Nyali’s 36 holes annual handicap strokeplay championship was played on Saturday and Sunday last.

Inside this issue: Space –age phone system kenya: The Kenya Posts and Telecommunications Corporation, in a major leap to space-age communications technology, may install an ultra-modern satellite telecommunications system at a cost of Kshs. 30 million; Americans celebrate 209 years’ freedom: Despite torrential rain virtually throughout the day it, seemingly had no- dampening effect on Mombasa’s American Community which turned up in strength at the Reef Hotel on July 4 to celebrate America’s 209th year of independence together; All berths ‘Occupied’ during a busy spell at kilindini harbor: Last Friday witnessed all berths occupied in Kilindini, name 16 vessels were alongside; an occurance that it is all too in frequent these days; Re-union and posta in town: Two strong up-country clubs, Nairobi’s Re-union and Post Office of Kisumu have arrived in Mombasa ready for their Kenya National Football League games against coast representatives, Wanderers of Mkanyageni at Mombasa municipal stadium this weekend.
